I Stand with Lionheart

Dear Lionheart, I stand with you.

The blogosphere is asizzle over a British blogger facing the threat of arrest for speaking his mind. Lionheart has had the unheard of gall (hutzpah as we say in Hebrew) to speak his mind. To protest Islam taking over his homeland. A realm that has taken pride in its insularity, traditions, religion, culture, freedom and independence. A country where Queen Boudicca rose against the Romans just like Shimon bar Kochba, a country where Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic church, will now punish a free man for exercising his right to free speech, in a manner that reminds me of the darkest days of the KGB. Yet this same country allows hatefests without batting an eyelid: the BBC and Guardian can indulge in bashing Israel with impunity; members of the academia, media and trade unions call for isolation and boycott of the Jewish State; the celebrated Oxford University holds Holocaust Denial seminars. These are just a few instances of the corruption of freedom and distortion of truth allowed in a European country where hospital employees have to turn beds occupied by Muslims in the direction of Mecca to allow them to pray. Five times a day. This same country that produced the Magna Carta Libertatum in 1215, and where Muslims are free to hold up banners sending the British police to hell 800 years later, has a severe grievance with a man who stands in solidarity with Israel, who has gone so far as to put the crest of Israel right next to St. George's cross.
Well, dear Lionheart, for your courageous stand, for your declared love for and solidarity with the Jewish people, I hail you as my Righteous Gentile. I wish there was something the State of Israel could do for you. I mean, a snake such as Jonathan Cook is allowed residence in Israel and can spew hatred at will. But then, as you know, our own leadership seems to have succumbed to the "charms" of Islam, the "religion of peace".
I, on the other hand, thank you and wish you good luck. I hope the British system of justice still has the ability to locate its right mind and focus on the real perpetrators of racial hatred.
God bless!
